Breaking Barriers in BBQ: Found in Fire and Inclusive BBQ Events to Have a Cooking Competition

Waterford, CT - Found in Fire and Inclusive BBQ events have teamed up to bring an exciting barbecue competition to Camp Harkness in Waterford, CT on August 25-27, 2023.

The event, called "Found in Fire," will feature some of the best barbecue in the region, along with fun activities and entertainment for all.


On August 26, an Inclusive Event for adults with disabilities will take place where teams will work with adults to teach them how to cook and build lifelong bonds through food and fire. Teams will cook burgers and desserts, and everyone is welcome to join in the fun.


They are also looking for adult teams to foster adults on Saturday for the Inclusive Event, which is a unique feature of our event. We encourage everyone to come and experience the joy of cooking and bonding with others over food and fire.



The event will feature a variety of BBQ competitions:

August 26, 2023

  • Inclusive event: Burgers and Dessert

August 27, 2023

  • Chicken. Ribs, Pork, and Brisket



Competition fees are as follows:

  • Fee: $300 with a $50 discount if you are helping teams in our Inclusive Event Saturday

Cash prizes and trophies will be awarded to the top teams!
