Join us at the Swamp Yankee Cook-Off, where we're not only grilling up some of the best BBQ in town but also supporting the Wings Of Freedom Animal Rescue (WOFAR). This incredible 501(c)3 organization based in Connecticut is dedicated to helping animals in need in southern New England states. WOFAR's mission is to rescue domestic animals from shelters and abusive situations, educate the public about responsible pet care, promote spaying, neutering, vaccinations, and proper nutrition, and ultimately find loving "forever" homes for every animal they rescue. All animals in their care receive the medical attention and love they deserve, making a positive impact on the lives of these furry friends.

You can contribute further to WOFAR by bringing donations of dog supplies to the event. Consider items like toys, crates, dog food, leashes, harnesses, or dog beds. Every donation makes a difference and helps WOFAR in their mission to alleviate animal suffering and provide them with a brighter future.

Calling all dessert lovers and creative bakers! Showcase your culinary skills with a delectable dessert following an apple theme. Assemble and cook your dessert on-site using the provided 9x9 containers. The NEBS Open Garnish will be used for this category, giving you the chance to win amazing prizes for your sweet creations.
π’ Kidβs Q 10/14 - Anything on a Stick! π’
Hey kids, it's time to show off your cooking talents! In the Kid's Q contest, prepare anything on a stick of your choice β beef, chicken, pork, or any other meat that sparks your culinary creativity! After inspection, cook, stuff, wrap, inject, or sauce your meat the way you see fit. Remember, this will be a NEBS Open Garnish contest, and judges will be looking for easy identification of the meat, so let it shine!
π NEBS Tailgate 10/15 - Chicken and Ribs π
On October 15, it's time for the main BBQ showdown! Cook up your best chicken and ribs recipes and compete for glory. Chicken may include wild or farm-raised chicken, Cornish Game Hen, or Kosher chicken, whole or in parts. For the Pork Ribs category, any style of pork rib may be submitted β Loin Back Ribs, Baby Back Ribs, Spare Ribs, or St. Louis Ribs. Let your BBQ skills sizzle and vie for fantastic prizes.

This event is a NEBS Sanctioned Contest, and we're seeking judges to make it a resounding success! Judges will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. If you have a discerning palate and a passion for great BBQ, join us as a judge to contribute to this fantastic NEBS event.

- 5:55 PM - 6:05 PM: Dessert turn-in at the Judging Area
