Templeton, MA - The Otter River Sportsman’s Club is thrilled to announce the return of the highly anticipated 2024 Otter River BBQ Cook-off, scheduled to take place on Sunday, September 8th, 2024. Presented in collaboration with The Northeast Barbecue Society (NEBS), this event promises a thrilling day of delicious barbecue, friendly competition, and community camaraderie.
The 2024 Otter River BBQ Cook-off will be held at the picturesque Otter River Sportsman’s Club, located at 250 Lord Rd, Templeton, MA 01436. BBQ enthusiasts from near and far are invited to showcase their culinary skills in two main categories: Chicken Wings and Pork Ribs. Additionally, young chefs can join in on the fun with the KIDS-Q category, allowing them to unleash their creativity and talent.

2024 OTTER RIVER BBQ JUDGE APPLICATION
The event kicks off with teams arriving and setting up on Saturday, September 7th, 2024, starting from 2:00 P.M. Meat inspection will be conducted as teams arrive, ensuring compliance with competition standards. A lively atmosphere will be set with a free concert from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., followed by an optional BBQ buffet dinner prepared by the Bastey Boys, available to teams for $20 per person.
On Sunday, September 8th, the excitement continues as teams can begin setting up again from 6:00 A.M. Free coffee and homemade Finnish coffee bread will be provided by The Otter River Sportsman’s Club from 7:00 A.M. to 9:00 A.M., ensuring participants start the day on a high note.
The competition officially commences with the Kids Q and Backyard Cooks Meeting at 9:00 A.M., followed by judging meetings to ensure fairness and consistency in the evaluation process. Turn-ins begin at 10:55 A.M. for the Kids Q category, followed by Chicken Wings and Pork Ribs.
The day culminates in the eagerly anticipated awards ceremony at approximately 3:30 P.M., where winners will be celebrated for their culinary prowess and creativity.
